Updated FAQs for Scouts, Leaders and Parents

FAQ from KennyWith an event the size of an Australian Jamboree, you are bound to have questions.  To help you with your decisions and your planning we have updated the FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) for Scouts, Leaders and Parents.

Click here or on the FAQ tab at the top of the screen to read the latest information.  If there is something you want to know and the information is not on the FAQs, send your question to Kenny and he will send you the answer.

Updated Eligibility Requirements for LBPS Funding

The Lord Baden-Powell Society (LBPS), a donor society and division of Scouts Australia, is planning to provide grants to assist Australian Scouts to attend the 2013 Australian Jamboree in Queensland. Grants of up to $600 per Scout will be given on a needs basis with preference going to the most deserving applicants. You can read more about the grant process here.

There has been a change to the eligibility requirements for LBPS grant applications for Scouts attending AJ2013. Whilst applications will still close on 18 May 2012, to be eligible for consideration for a grant Scouts must have achieved their Pioneer Badge prior to 30 September 2012. This new date ruling by which Scouts need to have achieved their Pioneer badge brings the LBPS grant process in line with the NSW Contingent and National Jamboree eligibility requirement.

For an application kit, contact the NSW State Office by phone on (02)9735 9000 or by fax on (02)9735 9001.  Alternatively, you can email NSW Branch Trust Management Committee at trustfund@nsw.scouts.com.au

Ask Kenny Your Questions

Whether you're a Scout, a parent of a Scout or a Leader, an event the size of an Australian Jamboree is bound to generate some questions.  We've answered some of the more common questions on our FAQ pages.

If you have a question which is not answered on our FAQ pages, please send your question to Kenny by completing the Contact Form.  If Kenny doesn't know the answer (and there's not much he doesn't know about the Jamboree) then he'll get the person most experienced in the area for which you are seeking some information to respond to you by email.

Alternatively you can direct your question to the Regional Liaison Leader (RLL) for your region.

Kenny the Kookaburra

In our Facebook group we asked you to tell us what we should call the NSW Contingent mascot featured on our badge.

After lots of discussion on Facebook and suggestions made to our Contingent Executive team, the name Kenny has proven to be the most popular.

So get ready to see more of Kenny on this website, on Facebook and at AJ2013.
