Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for AJ2013 have been announced. Please check the criteria as they differ for Scouts, Venturers and Leaders/Rovers.
Scouts
- Must be invested in the Scout Section.
- Must have the Pioneer Badge awarded before 30 September, 2012.
- Must have camped under canvas as a Scout, for ten (10) nights, at least three (3) of them to be consecutive. Camping with family, schools, etc will not be considered.
- Must not have attained the age of 15 years on or before 2nd January, 2013.
- Must be in the Scout Section for more than 12 months. If less than 12 months an assessment will be conducted by the relevant Regional Commissioner (Scouts) or delegate.
NB: Date of entry to the Scout Section recorded on the Branch record will be the Scout Section entry date. Any Scout, who has not attained their 11th birth date will also be subject to assessment. - Must be recommended as suitable to attend by their Scout Leader, Group Leader, Regional Commissioner (Scouts), and approved by the Contingent Leader.
Venturers
- Registered as a Venturer Scout for a minimum of one year and be at least 16 years of age at 2 January 2013, and no more than 18 years by the end of the Jamboree (12 January 2013).
- Achieved the Venturing Skills Award.
- Recommended by both Unit Council and Venturer Leader as being of excellent character and able to provide a role model to Scouts.
- Have a high level of communication skills.
- Have a wide experience of Venturer activities.
- Have a thorough knowledge of the Venturer Award Scheme.
- Have a desire to provide service to Scouts.
- Must be recommended as suitable by their Venturer Leader, Group Leader, Regional Commissioner, (Venturer Scouts) and approved by the Contingent Leader.
Rovers
- Registered members of a Rover Crew at least 18 years of age, but no older than 26 years, at 2nd January 2013 will be accepted as Service Leaders.
- Must be recommended as suitable to attend by their Crew Leader, Regional Commissioner (Scouts), and approved by the Contingent Leader.
Leaders
- Must hold a Certificate of Adult Appointment as at 30th September 2012.
- Must be recommended as suitable to attend by their Group Leader or next appropriate level of Commissioner, Regional Commissioner (Scouts), and approved by the Contingent Leader.
APPLICANTS ARE REMINDED THAT ATTENDANCE AT JAMBOREE IS A PRIVILEGE, NOT A RIGHT, AND THAT BEHAVIOUR STANDARDS WILL BE MONITORED OVER THE PERIOD FROM POINT OF APPLICATION ACCEPTANCE TO FINAL APPLICATION APPROVAL DATE TO ASCERTAIN ATTENDANCE ELIGIBILITY.
