Ask Kenny Your Questions

Whether you're a Scout, a parent of a Scout or a Leader, an event the size of an Australian Jamboree is bound to generate some questions.  We've answered some of the more common questions on our FAQ pages.

If you have a question which is not answered on our FAQ pages, please send your question to Kenny by completing the Contact Form.  If Kenny doesn't know the answer (and there's not much he doesn't know about the Jamboree) then he'll get the person most experienced in the area for which you are seeking some information to respond to you by email.

Alternatively you can direct your question to the Regional Liaison Leader (RLL) for your region.

Kenny the Kookaburra

In our Facebook group we asked you to tell us what we should call the NSW Contingent mascot featured on our badge.

After lots of discussion on Facebook and suggestions made to our Contingent Executive team, the name Kenny has proven to be the most popular.

So get ready to see more of Kenny on this website, on Facebook and at AJ2013.

Badge Contest Winners

We recently announced the joint winners of the NSW Contingent badge design competition for AJ2013.  Thank you to the many Cubs, Scout, Venturers and Leaders from all over New South Wales who submitted their designs.  The joint winners were Cassie Rec from 1st North Rocks and Rachael Emde for Tumbi Venturers.

Read more for photos of Cassie and Rachael accepting their certificates.

Jamboree at Cuboree

The AJ2013 NSW Contingent marketing team attended the Cuboree at Cataract from January 10th to 12th. The team ran a base to inform the Cubs about Jamboree and get them prepared for an even bigger adventure in two years time.

Many of the Cubs knew about Jamboree from having visited AJ2010 on future Scout day. Others had siblings or other Scouts from their group who went to AJ2010. This still left many who knew little about Jamboree. All the cubs who attended one of the sessions learned more about Jamboree and all were keen to go and experience such a large camp.
